Commissioning Art Work

I love noticing the small details. A small window or brightly painted door, a golden post box or a bright red classic phone box. Capturing the little things in my pictures gives me great joy.

People commission art work from me for lots of different reasons, birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, new homes or just because! They may be a view from a favourite place, a house or cottage, a seaside vista, harbour or countryside landscape. A boat or car, castle or favourite walk. It could be a holiday cottage or second home, a favourite historical building or garden.

The best thing about commissioning a piece of work is that it can incorporate all of the elements about a place that you love so much by an artist you admire.

If you would like to commission me to make a piece of work for you for a special occasion, event or person, then please do not hesitate to email me here [email protected]. I would love to talk to you more about what it is you want.

Styles of Work

I have two different styles of work both represented by the cards I have for sale in the shop.

The first is the {traditional textile illustrations} these are small appliqué pictures, just like postcards the whole picture is made from pieces of fabric, are hand pieced and machine stitched. Finished pieces are window mounted and framed in white washed ash box frames.

The second style of work are my {textile reliefs} these are textile appliqués which have been cut-out and face mounted onto mount board and framed in ash white washed square box frames. All are hand pieced and machine stitched.

The joy of a bespoke art work

Commissions are truely one of a kind pieces of art.

I love creating one off bespoke artworks and can use pieces of fabric, such as lace from wedding or christening dresses provided by the client to commemorate such occasions.

I will happily discuss at length your ideas and wishes for your piece of textile art. It is a pleasure and a real joy to illustrate in fabric and stitch the personal narratives of the people who have already commissioned work from me.

I look forward to hearing from you.
