Use your favourite Christmas themed fabrics, sparkly threads, sequins, beads, buttons and ribbons.
Slow Stitching embraces environmental and sustainable method of using what you already have rather than buying more. Ideal for the times we find ourselves in.
We will, where possible recycle and reuse what we have to hand in our homes and our stashes. It's an ideal project for using up those tiny fabric scraps.
We will begin with a patchwork or fabric collage base for our trees. I’ll recap my use of the invisible baste to secure our foundation.
We will use only the most festive of stitches and colour palettes. I will introduce the idea of adding yet more texture to your pieces, learn to work with trickier metallic yarns and add shisha mirrors for a touch of glitter and Christmas sparkle.
During the three hours we will spend together I will share some loving exercises for hand care.
All levels and experience are welcome.
This is an online morning workshop via Zoom.
Number of places are limited to eight which makes for a lovely small gathering. You can even stay in your coisest of clothes and slippers!
The workshop day runs from 10am - 1pm. There is a follow up session a week later, arranged at a mutually convenient time in class.
Once you've signed up a welcome email with all the details for the class and zoom login information will be sent to you.
If you have any questions then please do email Cat and ask.
